Welcome to Cairns!

Cairns is the main city of the Cairns region, in the state of Queensland and 5th most populous city in Australia, with a population of 165,525. Initially formed to serve miners heading for the Hodgkinson River goldfield, it has now developed into a major port for exporting sugar cane, gold and other metals, minerals and agricultural products from surrounding coastal areas.

The city of Cairns has grown substantially over the past 10 years and has become a major tourist destination thanks to its tropical climate, stunning beaches, the presence of the nearby world’s oldest tropical rainforest and the beautiful Great Barrier Reef, which is one the seven natural wonders of the world. This tropical paradise is all to be discovered.
